Indoor Environment

室内空气质量是一个很多人讨论的话题。大多数人，特别是那些总是呆在室内的人，真正关心的是空气质量和他们留在室内的环境。下面是一个例子，是我们每天都会遇到的一个糟糕的室内环境。

Indoor air quality is a topic that has been discussed by a lot of people. Most of the people, especially those who always stay indoors, really care about the air quality and the environment they stay in. And here is an example which talks about the bad indoor environment we meet daily.

Our academic discussion group plans to visit a primary school in our town. After getting into the primary school, we walk around as we like and enjoy the beautiful flowers and trees of the school. We all reach the consensus that it is fairly luck to study in such a school with beautiful scenery. 

However, after getting into the canteen, we feel really shocked and disappointed. We can hardly believe what we have seen. First of all, the tables are really dirty with some oil spots which can be clearly seen by us. This indicates that the tables are rarely cleaned by the staffs of the canteen and it seems that few people care about this phenomenon. What is more, rubbish bin near the table is seldom been cleared away. A variety of cola tins and packages have been stayed there for a long time, which gives out a disgusting smell that not only make people not want to eat but also make the air of the canteen too bad for our health. The rubbish in the rubbish bin may cause the bacteria to spread and directly affects the food we eat in the canteen and our health, which should be paid close attention by us students. All these may let us question ourselves that how we handle with the daily indoor environment. It is time for us to do something to deal with these problems.

The sanitation issues not only happen in the canteen of that primary school, but also in the classrooms, the places where students study every day. But the environment there should also be concerned by the school and the people who care about the health of the students. First of all, the maps in the classrooms are quite dirty that may not be washed and cleaned for even one semester. The little kids run on the maps and sometimes even play on the maps every day, resulting in infected by the bacteria on the maps and causing some diseases. Moreover, the cupboard is covered by a layer of dust. Students put their water bottles in the cupboard and drink the water directly during the class break. The dust may sometimes make the water unclean in different kinds of ways and the kids may touch the cupboard which makes their hands dirty. What is more, both the dirty maps and the dusty cupboard can cause the air inside the classroom quite bad and unsuitable for students to breathe. This is not good for the students’ physically health and mental mood.

Due to all these phenomena, we can bring out some solutions towards it, and the following are some suggestions. First, we can let the staffs of the canteen clean the tables every time before the meal time. Second, clear the rubbish in the rubbish bin every time after meal time. Third, wash the maps of the classrooms every Friday afternoon after the school. Forth, ask the little kids do the duty to clean their classrooms every day after school, including cleaning the dust of the cupboard and sweeping the floor. Last but not the least, open all the windows before every day before the school in order to let the fresh air get into the classrooms.

Fine indoor environment should be created by all of us.
