I am usually busy with study this semester. Coupled with pressure from preparing for the application of graduate study, I have almost no time to exercise. So yoga class becomes a good opportunity for me to exercise the body and to relax. However, perhaps it is because that I do not exercise often. Course of nearly two hours for me is really tiring. During the first hour, I feel very comfortable, but after an hour I feel tired. So it is very difficult for me to concentrate on it. I would like to have a rest for about five minutes. I used to know little about yoga. On this lesson, I begin to learn a lot of healthy exercise methods. Through this lesson, I realize the benefits of learning yoga, and decide to exercise to an hour every day after completing the study.

On the Yoga class, we will first prepare the Body by lying on the ground breathing, slowly stretching the legs, then curling up the legs, and doing sit-ups fast. I think the beginning very good, because it is like a warm-up exercise. Then we stretch the legs, similar to the starting position of the runner. And then I stretch the arm which is in the opposite direction with the leg being stretched.  Such an action can simultaneously stretch the legs and arms. I think the teacher teach us well, as after the end of these extension, the teacher do not immediately ask us to stop the legs and arm extension but to do a group of gradual movement: get up slowly and then stand in a relaxed manner. I think this is a good way of relaxation as it is a gradual process. In the middle of the course, the teacher will allow us to imitate posture of "children" or posture of "puppy" such as Downward Dog for us to relax. It makes me feel very comfortable, especially when I am imitating the "child's posture when I can stretch the arm and back. It is because that after sitting for long time after learning, I will be very tired, and this action can help me to relax a lot.

The movements of each class are ranging from the lying in a flat manner, the upward extension, forward bend, back bend, side stretch, twist, inversion either when I am sitting or standing. And finally we will practice Shoulder stand: we find a wall, lying down and then putting the legs straight on the wall. I quite like the action of extension, which is not especially tiring but function well in helping me to stretch the body. Another reason that I think the teacher taught quite well is because each student on the class is not of the same level and the teacher will provide two to three different movements. Student of the basic level will practice the basic movement. For students with previous yoga learning experience they can try some of the more challenging moves. Finally, the teacher is also very nice to teach us some moves which we can also practice by our own when we come to our own home.
