An extremist’s political faith

Adolf Hitler discussed the question confronting the nation today as insistently as ever that the nation needs space and claimed that it was a question of power in his speech at the 1927 Nuremberg Rally. It is well accepted that a nation should highly value the purity of the blood, appreciate the great minds and possess the drive to self assertion, which completely build a nation internal power. However I hardly agree that Hitler attribute all the questions to a question of power. His prejudice that anyone that believe that all people are equal in terms of blood will no longer have a need to rise above the others is with difficulty persuasive. In addition, Hitler gives much evidence to support his theory that pacifism is the clearest form of cowardice, possessing no willingness to fight for anything at all, which obviously represents extremism and proves to be absurdity.

The nation needs space. Increasing competition, especially the inevitable difficulty in industrial production, will force nations to reach for sword. And even the sharpest economic weapons will give way to the sharpness of the sword. Based on this assumption, Hitler draws a conclusion that it is just a question of power. However, fierce economic competition does not necessarily lead to violence. For example, the financial crisis swept across the world in 2008 finally ended up with cooperation between nations, instead of conflicts manipulated by nation’s power. Obviously, Hitler expounds his political faith based on a flawed assumption.

Hitler is keen to emphasize on the value of the blood and point out that a people that sees its blood as worthless cannot possess the intrinsic will to withstand the competitive struggles of this world. However purity of blood cannot deny the significance of other races. Hitler must ignore the United States, one country built on immigrants, have produced countless great minds. Until today, the world has witnessed that the country has obtained huge potential from diversity of race. Thousands of scientists from the world gather in America to fight for development of science and technology. Different bloods emerge into admirable minds and different races interactive harmoniously. Barack Obama, one black that was ever considered as inferior race, now strive to lead a better country as the America president. Then we could turn our eyes to another country. China has proved that one country containing fifty- six nations could achieve astonishing accomplishment with sharp development in economy and military. When we appreciate those achievements, we can easily draw a conclusion that Hitler’s conception about blood depends heavily on personal bias that also contribute to the Holocaust in the second world war.

When we examine the many standpoints about value of race such as “if a nation internalizes such thinking, its own values are of no use”, we can give an explanation of Hitler’s failure in the perspective of globalization. The conflict between protection of race in Hitler’s way and inevitable trend of globalization determines that he cannot go further. And rejecting globalization is not a good way to protect value of race.

When it comes to the value, I exactly agree with the claim that all this would be in vain if the fundamental values were not here in his speech. But Hitler give a fault definition to value of race, especially he treats a sense of battle as one kind of value. That is also the reason for his claim that pacifism is the clearest form of cowardice, possessing no willingness to fight for anything at all. Although Hitler give much evidence to make this point convinced, the progress of history obviously give a heavy blow to him. Hundreds of years ago, people kept the sense of battle and fought to gain what they desired. Decades years ago, more and more people learnt other ways which they finally found benefited each other. So people learnt well how to avoid wars and to meet the needs in peaceful way in the development of history. Modern society can never eliminate the competition and conflict but we have maintained peace for a long period and built a better world on condition that every country could get a opportunity to achieve its accomplishments, which also makes Hitler’s theory fall to the ground.

Hitler magnifies the significant of power, misinterprets the meaning of value of race and overemphasizes the role of war, which leads to his extremism. He declare to devote himself to build a national flag and renew the nation but the flag involved in power, exclusion and war largely represents his prejudice and personal cognizance. How far can his political flag lead Germans to go? It depends on whether his political faith that he spares no efforts to preach represents the will of people. Obviously, the answer is negative because people will not find happiness in politics and they have no reason to refuse the peace. When Adolf Hitler attempted to impose his extremism on people in the world, his so-called national flag changed its color of a nation intrinsic value. And when he spoke out that the fulfillment of the sentence that the nation needs space guided and determined the fate of the nation, he could not recognize that it also determined his fate yet.
