At the release of iPhone 6, thousands people from all over the world had their Christmas rush shopping in advance——a week before its debut they stood in lines or even lived in tents just in order to spend a dozen of money to buy their latest Apple “outfit.” There is no doubt that Apple updated its record and made a phenomenon of itself, but the hunger of Apple products also makes another phenomenon. Seriously, the trend might be not all about the Apple obsession, but more about the invasion of our daily life by the proliferative use of electronic goods. The question of how our life is narrowed by the excessive use of electronic devices gradually becomes a serious concern in common. Therefore, it is worthwhile probing into the influence of electronic devices on people’s life in this paper.
Life is a too grand topic to start with, but the paper of Jiang Qi, the Quality of Urban Residents’ Life Quality and Its Influencing Factors underlines the importance of the factor—entertainment and cultural activity—under which the electronic devices play an crucial role in nowadays. (Jiang, 2003) Table 1 below from Jiang’s paper displays those factors influencing people’s life quality.

The factors in the first crossrange and longitudinal lines in Table 1. are life quality, income, health, housing, marriage, childrn, crossrange compariosn, and longitudinal comparison. The closer the numbers to 1，the more influential they are on people’s life quality. As we can see from the chart, the entertainment rates the second with a number of 0.4301 for its influenct on people, just slightly lower than the income, 0.6277. When other factors remain unchange, every one degree increases of the entertainment, people’s satisfaction will increase 0.3416. These data comfirms the crucial status of entertainment in people’s life, and nowadays entertainment in people’s life contains spiritual pursuit but relies on substances (TV and other eletronic devices or special equipments). But to just reveal and comfirm the revelance between modern day’s entertainments on those electronic devices is not enough, more specific samples are needed to discover how this kind of influence takes place in people’s life. For purpose of this, another research conducted by Zhu Shoujia, Zhen Feng, Qin Xiao, Xi Guangliang on the topic，The Features and The Influencing Factors of Home Network Dependence Information Age: A Case Study of Nanjing (China), just appears to be useful. The paper lookes into activities which take place on the internet at home and suggests that a concept of internet indepencence, basing on the 2012 survey questionairs about personal information usage. (Shoujia, Feng, Xiao, & Xi , 2014) The group assumed that the Information Age influences people’s way of life as well as working style. The development of Information Technology has transformed the basic functions of home from a place for shelter and rest to a residential complex in which they could handle their work with the help with internet and have more possibilities of entertainment as the internet reduces the cost of choice. The site of study, Nanjing, China is the second center of the Yangzi River Delta, which enjoys advancing economic development in China, and is enlisted as the first cities embedded with 4G, and therefore the construction of informatization in Nanjing is pretty advanced in China. Among data deployed in the paper to make its claim, the feature of time spent on home network activity is most evident.

As we can see, in the box (3rd leftest longitudinal bar) of People Least Depending on Internet, the lowest Percentage of Time of Network Activity in Home Activity Time is still 19.89% (during weekdays), and when it comes to the weekend, the same criteria jumps to 26.2%. There is no need to discuss those who are much more depend on the use of internet. Hence, for this analysis of data here, the conclusion is the Information Age has dramatically changed the modes of how people pass their leisure time. Nanjing is dependant on the use of network (which relies on the platform of electronic devices), and this conclusion could be convincingly transplant to other cities in China or even some big towns around the world.
More directly, the Study of Features of the Leisure Time Usage of Shenzhen Citizens by Liu Zhilin, Chai Yanwei, Gong Hua, believes that residents at home where is the most importance leisure place, mainly choose to watch TV, listen to radio, surf on internet. With the popularity of microblog and online videos, the entertainment at home becomes more abundant, and this change has even affects people habit of going out and their work. Their staying at home relies more and more on internet, which in turns erodes our daily life, and cause problems. (Liu , Chai , & Gong , 2000)
Furthermore, even in Ikea’s report of Chinese Household Lfe Styles, data are released, which showing the same result.

In the Bar Chart 1. above, it is seen in the leftest item that most Chinese people, no matte they are single (blue), sharing house (orange), with kids older than 7 (grey), or with kids younger than 7 (yellow), they nevertheless play with their eletronic devices when they have free time at night.
Afterall, as is analyzed above, there is the proliferation of using of electronic devices. What should be caution is that, apropriate using is acceptable, and it could even act as adjustment between relaxation and work, and boost your working performance. However, it also has the pain of disattracting you from what is really important for you. Therefore, learning the data fact is only the first step, to know why, and know how is more important. More researches are necessary is this field.
