I’m really impressed that ancient Roman architecture is a pearl in architectural art treasure. It carries the architectural style of ancient Greek civilization and highlights the Mediterranean features, while it is also a kind of development of the ancient Greek architecture. In the 2nd century BC, the ancient Rome became the Mediterranean power; meanwhile the Romans also started the construction of Rome. Till the 1st century AD when the Roman Empire was established, the city of Rome became a world city as famous as the East Changan City. Its urban infrastructure construction has developed relatively perfect and gradually stepped towards artistic direction. Roman architecture and sculpture art are famous for its symmetrical and magnificent construction in the world.

Among Roman architecture, the most magnificent and artistic values are the ones which can serve the economy or human life in both material and spiritual aspects, such as square, roads, bridges, elevated waterway, tunnels, theater, arena, baths, residence and villa. Almost all these buildings directly serve material life or spiritual enjoyment. In terms of artistic style, they are also in the pursuit of harmony, perfection and nobility. However it is not yet a "sacred" harmony, perfection and nobility. Instead it is a "proper" of the real life, economic prosperity, peace and stability, and “nobility” of pursuing reality stimulus.
