Advantages and Disadvantages of Credit

  Nowadays, credit is all over our life, which brings us a convenient life through easy purchase and flexibility of funds. It also has dis like budget problems and safety issues.
Firstly, credit improves one’s purchase power. Since more and more service areas are recognizing credit, the procedures of purchases can be simplified and shortened several seconds. Time is saved when booking airlines, renting cars, shopping, etc. Second, it provides us with a timely response in face of promotions and discounts, which makes an immediate possession possible. (Immediate possession: credit enables people to enjoy goods and services immediately. Otherwise, they would have to postpone their purchases or do without them.) So it lowers the costs of things on our wish lists.
  Meanwhile, emergencies can be well dealt with in the help of credit. When unexpected situations happen, it demands a large amount of purchase, which may lead to an embarrassing dilemma. It is the occasion where people find credit extremely important, since the flexible feature it brings permits us to draw the life-saving funds to survive a “storm”. (Emergency Funds: credit gives people a cushion in emergencies, such as the money you need to get back on the road if your car breaks down.)
  Apart from these benefits, we have to be aware of its shortcomings. If we do not take a serious attitudes toward our expenses, we would over estimate our paying capacity next month and……The interest rate charged by the bank can increase a great deal and become hard to bear. A blemished credit history is going to stay in our profile. It can make our future loans difficult and even leads to a bankruptcy eventually.
  Safety problems: Though credit card companies are assuring us of their safety system, victims of credit card frauds do exist. People’s money can be lost or stolen when a tiny system bug or a vulnerable spot is taken advantage of illegally. To avoid accident like this, we’d better choose a credible baand protect our privacies. That is to say, credit can be really nice if we use it in a wise way. When we enjoy the pleasure and convenience it brings, we should pay attention to budget and the risk of using it before it’s too late.
