2015-06-13 来源: 51due教员组 类别: Essay范文

President Obama claimed that soaring cost of higher education has become a burden for a lot of American families and brought too much debt to youngsters who choose to go to college in his speech in Buffalo. He said that every family in America should be able to afford to get higher education is an economic imperative. He used “we” instead of “they” or “you” for many times to form a closer relationship between him and his audience. As a speaker, his sense of humor and familiarity with local folks helped establish contact with his audience at the very beginning of his speech. Local audience gave a big round of applause to the president for his encouraging speech from time to time, that shows he address and connect with his audience well. He appealed to the interest of middle class and young people especially college students. He claimed that higher education is very vital for young students to get a good job and finally improve their life. He made the steps he points out to increase college affordability reasonable by giving his audience some good reasons for each steps. He claimed that rating college on who's offering the best value so students and taxpayers get a bigger bang for their buck is aimed at providing better value for students making sure that families and taxpayers are getting what they pay for; jumpstarting new competition between colleges is to encourage more colleges to embrace innovative new ways to prepare students for a 21st century economy and maintain a high level of quality without breaking the bank. And he guaranteed that government would help more students graduate from college and help more students escape their debt burdens so they can a good start in their careers.
