Drinking Tea Properly Can Help to Keep Healthy

  Tea has a long history. As a beverage made by steeping tea leaves in water, it is believed to have originated in ancient China, during the Shang dynasty and the history of tea drinking in western countries dates backs to the 16th century, with the interaction between the Chinese businessmen and western preachers. Later, the British people began to drink tea and thus made tea drinking a lovely enjoyment. In present days, thousands of tons of tea are produced in the world, and new products that are related to tea keep coming out. Unlike the ancient people, people nowadays do not just drink tea simply as a beverage, they add some other things to make it drink well.  For example, the product of tea has now also been improved with the new items like milk tea. The culture that originates from tea has a deep and profound meaning in many Asian countries, the tea ceremony in Japan, for instance. However, nowadays, as the popularity of carbonated beverage and coffee has explode over the past few years, more people in China, especially the younger generation, prefer to this kind of drink in stead of drinking tea. Actually, tea is not just a drink. Tea leaves have been used by many people in cooking to make good smell of food. And chewing tea leaves can relieve thirst and sweeten breath. Although tea has been associated with beverage for centuries, the benefits that tea drinking bring to health are found and investigated scientifically. In addition, drinking tea properly can help to keep good health, both physically and mentally.
Drinking tea properly is helpful to physical health. Drinking proper tea has been considered as a nature medicine for human body. Proper tea drinking helps to protect against cancer, defend the body organs and even helps to look good. First of all, tea protects against cancer. There are basic types of tea: black, green, and oolong Teas are produced from the tea plants and the leaves are the most import for tea products. Tea leaves contain a lot of polyphenols, including catechins, both of which are known for their antioxidative activity. Thus, drinking tea may help to prevent from some diseases. According to the studies which suggest that polyphenolic compounds present in black tea are associated with beneficial effects in prevention of cardiovascular diseases, people who drink proper may be healthier than those drink no tea (Kumar, D). Polyphenols are proved to have the property to anti cancer, anti oxidant, anti bacterial, and anti virus. The function to scavenge free radicals owned green tea makes it a guard against cancer, for the reason that the existence of free radicals can make a destruction of the cells’ blocking the action of cancer-causing agents, or carcinogens. Tea polyphenols also help to lower the frequency of cell replication, consequently avoid the occurrence of cancer. Therefore, tea, with these chemical components, is beneficial to the cancer-fighting effects. Additionally, tea drinking is beneficially to body organs. Tea may reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. The blood clots formed from cholesterol and blood platelets cause heart attack and stroke, which is a common health problem that many people face, especially the old. Tea leaves contains a large amount of flavonoids and vitamin, helping to limit the condensation of blood cells. Flaconoids, as one of the most powerful antioxidant, helps to slows down the damage that can be caused to other substances by the effects of oxygen. Thus, people who drank a proper amount of black tea or green may suffer less from the heart attack. Also, another new study has reported that tea drinking may be good for bones. According the the examination on some certain women who showed the improvement of better bone formation and muscle strength. Thus, tea drinking could provide with a reduction of falling down and fractures, and protect the cell from oxidative stress, which is beneficial to the bones(“Drinking Tea Protects Head, Heart and Bones.”). Besides, tea drinking can also help to keep teeth healthy.  The bacteria that cause cavities, infections and gum disease can be inhibited from growing by polyphenols found in tea. Compared to people who rinse their mouths with water daily, people who rinse with tea in the same way have less plaque buildup on their teeth than people who rinsed their mouths with water(Bahar Gholipour, LiveScience). And the soaked tea leaves can help to relieve hemodia. These might also be the reason that many producers use tea leaves to make toothpaste. Last but not least, nowadays, some people are troubled when choosing a drink, worrying about their fitness(David H. Freedman). Tea drinking helps to deal with the problem of obesity since tea contains no calories and can also helps to burn fat, and increase metabolism. Keep drinking tea properly as a habit may help to lose weight. Therefore, drinking tea may help to build a good body.
  Apart from the benefits that tea brings to human body, drinking tea properly can be help to the mental health. According to Feng L’s research, drinking tea improves cognitive function, especially the old people(“Tea drinking and cognitive function”).
Tea can help to memorize better though it lasts for a short time. Tea contains caffeine which may promote the improvement of your memory, at least for a few hours. Meanwhile, instead of drinking coffee, drinking some tea can also help to refresh yourselves, to sharpen your mind(“Tea sharpens the mind”). Recently, tea is used all over the world as a popular drink as well as a too for refreshment, which to some extend, can tell the reason that why some cultures take tea so deeply ingrained and loved as portion of their customs, British and Japan, for example. Tea, to be specific, green tea can work to anti depression, which means that taking a cup may be helpful to feeling comfortable and giving a good with without feeling down. In addition,now in many Asian countries like China and Japan, there are plenty of tea houses for tea lovers, providing a place for them to share the same interest and appreciation. Besides, tea gives you a sweet smile. Tea not only helps to protect against tooth decay, it also smells good and people who drink tea feel more free to smile with the fragrance of tea. 
  Tea has benefits for people’s health but drinking too much tea does no good. That is to say, drinking a large amount of tea may not be so healthy, because it contains caffeine which could make you feel nervous cause, lead to insomnia, and heart rate irregularities. Tea should be drunk properly and tea drinking should be depended on the body condition. Drinking tea too fast or drinking a large amount will lead to the decrease of people’s appetite and cause constipation. It is beneficial for people in good health to drink 2 or 3 cups of tea in moderately. It is suggested for people who feel hard to fall asleep to avoid drinking tea in the morning instead of afternoon, and especially not to drink in the evening, since they might suffer a lot from insomnia. It will be better not to drink tea when you are hungry because it might make feel more hungry or even feel uncomfortable. People who suffer from health problem had better not drink large quantities of tea and should not drink it so much often, because the chemicals, tannic acid, which is contained in tea can make it difficult to absorb the protein by solidifying in into particles. In addition, people should not drink tea while taking medicines because these chemicals contained in tea can neutralize some power of the medicines. Keep the tea set clean and choose the tea with good quality, drink it properly based on your personal conditions.
  Tea, though regarded as one of the famous drinks around the world, is not just a beverage for relieving thirst, it can help to keep a good health with proper drinking. Thus, the improving consumption of tea may help more people benefit from tea drinking. Like the mode of business operation of Soul Kitchen, tea business can also work in this way. In addition, tea, like some plants, is usually planted in large scale in the mountains. To develop the tea business and popularize the benefit of tea drinking, it is necessary to grow more tea trees. Small-scale growing has the potential to create jobs, clean u blighted landscapes,and improve neigborhood residents’ access to fresh foods(Sarah Shemkus). Countries that has less large-scale farm land can consider this way for tea planting. Above all, tea, the long-history beverage, has been doing good to human’s health and its benefit will be known by more people with its popularity. As drinking tea properly can help to keep a good health, both physically and mentally.
