First , today I feel especially  honored to represent our food chain as a manager to give the report.

Good-food chain as one of the old fast food brand of our company has already nearly 40 years of history in Australia. Up to now, it has grown to be a super food chain with 80 branches in total and 12 branches in Queensland, which cover an area of about 2,000 square meters. There are almost 1800 staff in these 12 branches in Queensland now. According to the statistical data of annual earnings, Queensland every year can make a profit of 1,200,000 $. Generally speaking, as data recorded from 2000 to 2010 , our company is in the profitability including all the Good-food chain in Queensland. However, we have to notice that, from 2005 to 2010, the rate presents a trend of slow growth. As what we have analyzed, the factors that lead to the trend can be concluded to following reasons.

First of all, the types of our food are too old to meet the different needs and recently the reinventing development or creative efforts of our company can not keep up with the new trends. Secondly, it still results from our food itself. In these years, the customers of our food have been old and our foods are not their cup of tea any more. In addition, we have few new products to meet the needs of young people who have become a new group of fast food. In the third place, other food chains like K.F.C. ,M.C and so on have occupied a big part share of fast food market. They are strong rivals to our food chain. Next, because the increase number of fast food chains, the range of supply of goods also becomes narrowed. This situation has gradually threatened the quality of our food. The last reason is that, our employees and service with low quality has obviously affected our sales. It is absolutely necessary for us to solve these problems but how maybe many of you would ask. It the key point of my report and I have come up with a system to deal with the difficulties. Now let me introduce TQM to you.

Introduction

TQM stands for Total Quality Management with that in the overall social driven, all departments, organizations, and all staff in an enterprise take the quality as the core and take the professional technology, management, technology, mathematical statistic technology together in order to establish a set of scientific, rigorous, high quality guarantee system as well as combine the quality control in the production process of influence factors. Angel R Martines Lorente, 2009 works with quality and uses most economic method to meet the users’ needs and meet all the activities of the product. Here we can easily find that the ‘quality’ in TQM not only refers to the specific extent that it meets the users’ needs, but also includes the quality of service and quality of design and production. We need to recognize the meaning of improving products’ quality. On one hand it can improve product design and the acceleration of the production process. Adrian Wilkison, 2009 ON the other hand, it can encourage employees’ morale and enhance the quality consciousness and improve after-sales service and product market acceptance. There is no doubt that improving quality of products can reduce the cost of quality and accident. Therefore timely making use of TMQ is especially important to us. Then let us learn some basic knowledge of TMQ.

1) In the phrase of quality control, ‘quality’ is not just referring to ‘best’. Quality refers to the most suitable requirement for certain customer. These requirements include: the practical usage of product and the price of the product.

2) In the phrase of quality control, ‘control’ means a kind of  management including: a. setting the standard for quality; b. evaluation standards implementation; c. deflecting a standard for adoption of  transformation measure; d. arrangement to improve the standard of plan.

3) The factors affecting the product quality can be divided into two categories: according to the aspect of technology, the factors including machine, material and crafts: with respect to human resources, the factors involving operator and other personnel in a company. S.K. Breja,D.K. Banwet,2010

Total quality management is to provide high quality products of excellent products which are forever needed to design, process method and maintenance service activities really which is a kind of important means. Its basic principle is useful for any manufacturing process, but due to the different scale of different companies, and the use of method is somewhat different. Quality management in industrial production processes of all stages. Javier Garcia-Bernal,2009 Quality control the factors affecting product quality is very significant. Controls of new design, material, product and specific research are included.  In general principle, manager should become the chief designer of quality management and at the same time, he and other major functional departments should promote efficiency, modernization, quality control of the company. From the point of view of interpersonal relationship, quality management organizations including two aspects that are: to provide product quality information and communication channels for relevant staff and departments and to provide employees those who participate in the management of the quality of the relevant departments. The quality management must have the full support of upper management department. The company should pay much attention to full range of quality management activities gradually. TQM is a kind of management philosophy which is driven by customers’ needs and expectations. It takes the quality as the center and is a kind of management measures which is established on the basis of participation. Its aims to long-term gain customers’ satisfaction, and organizational members’ and social interests. Thereby TQM must utilize the customer-centered thinking through the business management. Some corresponding steps are as follow. Test every link of customer first set in market research, product design, production, sale, storage, and after-sales service. Not only should produce cheap products, but also to provide services for the customers. TMQ is a never meet commitment. Javier Arcia-Bernal, 1997

PDCA is one very important aspect of TQM. It is a scientific work procedure by which products and quality can be improved. P stands for plan, D-do, C-check and A-action. In the first stage, through the market survey, uses access to clear the information such as users’ requirements for product quality. In the second stage, according to quality standards for product design, manufacture and test, including personnel training. In the third stage, check whether performance meets its expected results. After the analysis of it, we find that TQM has the obvious advantage and is meaningful to a company. It can improve the products’ quality, develop the product design, and speed up the production process. Also it can expand span of management, enhance broaden exchanges and reduce labor division as well as promote cross-functional team cooperation. Micaela Martrney-Costa,2009

Its advantages also include: arranging tasks to lower management as it possible, collecting the maximum of customer requirements and to ensure the timely reflect changes quickly. Optimal utilization of resources, reduce the cost of each link and transfer focus from technology to quality management, and organization and implementation of brand strategy to the effect of long-term competitive advantage. Based on TQM, I have made a set of plans according to the problems we are now confronted with. Next let us analysis it together.

The preparation stage

The first thing we need you to make a decision that what kind of vision should we put on our food chain, because the old version is not suitable now. There is a proposal for reference and it is that: welcome with our smile and leave your smile to us. I am not sure whether it is good enough to replace the contemporary one, but I am totally believe that the former is really outdated. We need some change and fresh blood infusing to our body. Then our company need to establish there necessary corresponding departments: market research group, product research group and specialized personal coordination. The market research group takes the responsibilities of investigating the acceptance of our food and the degree of satisfaction of our consumers. And it also has to make a survey of the sales of our food in different areas and some problems and suggestions proposed by our subordinate employees. In addition, the market research group should master of ourselves and our rivals and have a good knowledge of such information like the kind of their foods, market share of their products and their service and so on. Next is the establishment of product research group which takes charge of the design, production and detection of our food. Also it should make a connection with our material suppliers to purchase good material for our food. The third department is specialized personal group which is specialized in dealing with the relationship between company and its employees and customers and our staff. The preparation it needs to do including: jointing departments, to convey the tenet of company and spirit and building corporate atmosphere, to enhance the quality of employees. Also we depend on this department to train our staff and find new brains for our company. The third department is product research group which is responsible for search for new source  for our food and purchase all the materials and machines that are needed for the production of our food. In the other hand it should timely acquire and make use of advanced technology. This department is closely linked to our food, the design, production, sales and detection of the process of it.

After the preparation process, we need to put theory into practice. First of all, we should start our work from the design of our food including different shapes, sizes, colors, packages and tastes. Depending on our traditional food varieties, we should pay more attention to the creation and design of new kinds. Then we need to search good suppliers to provide necessary materials for us. Next, we should start to detect the process of the production of our food and guarantee that every kind of food from our food chain is healthy to eat and also it must be delicious as well. Then the work we need to complete is promotion. Food also needs promotion, especially those new kinds. One of the important works for us is the redecoration of our store. Create a different atmosphere in according to our new attitude of food and service.

The third step is check. First, our product research group should return the information about the products to us which involving the cost, time, money and human resources that needed to produce the food. Also it needs to report the result of detection of our food. Then is the market research group needs to return the information collected from our market and customers. It should include the acceptance of the new food among consumers and the sales of it. Also it needs return the suggestions and problems of our food in market to the upper management. Next the specialized personal group should return the information of our staff to us. This information should include that whether they can adapt to the new environment and atmosphere of our company and their advice to the improvement of our food. We should make corresponding adjustment according to the feedback.

After all of this work, the last thing is to take action. For our food has been through practical test, and according to the feedback, we have made a lot of improvement, so in the end, it can has a good sales and market of fast food.
Summary
According to TQM, a successful company should establish an intact progress and system to involve all its employees in and this system should include such steps.

1) The head of the company should decide the direction and vision of the company.

2) Manager of one company should take the responsibility to connect the his employees and company’ profit together.

3) The company should establish a complete system from the process of production to promotion. Also , it should do a lot of research work to guarantee its future profit.

4) According to the need of the work , it sometimes needs to establish some fresh departments to assist other departments.

5) The effect of the system needs a period to test and the system it self also needs a lot of improvements.

Conclusion

TQM has become a strategy successfully taken by many companies and organizations. In my opinion, our food chain needs some change to adapt to the new trend and environment. TQM it self is an improvement. The circle of this kind management is never end, but after the last step, it will start again. Therefore it has numerous starts but without an end. As a result, our food can be gradually developed and improved. Therefore I strongly suggest we take this plan and I believe we will make our food chain better.
