As a synthesizer of the ancient Greek philosophy, Aristotle is called the first philosopher who systematically expounded the ethical theory in western history. Friendship is a very important subject in Aristotle's ethics. Aristotle defines fraternity, expounds the nature and characteristics of love in detail, and discusses the problems related to fraternity from different angles. Happiness is the highest good, is the ultimate goal of human beings, love is the important part of happiness. Friendship is an important factor of individual happiness, and it is also an important factor to realize the purpose of Polis.

In the eighth volume of the Ethics of Nicholas, Aristotle argues that love is a virtue or a virtue. Moreover, it is one of the most essential things in life.

Friendship is indispensable in our life, our life is no longer with the people around us, who will not think of the life without friends. Friends can share happiness and help each other. People need love out of instinct or nature, and it is human nature as much as affection. In his opinion, love is a kind of virtue which contains the practical action that can be realized, it is the necessary part of achieving happiness and good.

Aristotle believed that only lovable things are worthy of people to love, namely: good, happy and useful things, only for people to love.

Lovely things are the cause of love or affection: good and joyful things, to the human self is a kind of things, useful things can produce some kind of good and pleasure. He also emphasized that fraternity is not about love to no creature, because that love is not rewarded. If there is hope for friends and the other side does not return, such hope is only good intentions, only mutual goodwill is the true love, this kind of goodwill must be known to each other, goodwill is to want the other side to gain.

Friendship can only exist between people. Only mutual pay and rewards can be called fraternity, no biological between just mutual physical attraction, not fraternity. Friendship between humans begins with goodwill. Goodwill, is a kind of willingness, is generated in the hearts of people, is the hope that another person will be good, is a purposeful choice. Of course, as I said before, this kind of kindness is only felt by the people and can be used for the purpose of another person. As the starting point of friendship, when the two sides of mutual goodwill, and for each other to know, this can make the two sides on the basis of goodwill to further produce feelings, for each other to pay practical action, and then develop into fraternity.

Aristotle believes that, although there are many differences between the same things and different kinds of things, but the nature of love-related, the difference between the two good people is not the same place there will be more, they have a similar virtue between each other, with each other goodwill will give each other the best. Man's quality or character is the deep reason of love, but in the friendly situation of good people, the reason of their virtue is not only the reason of friendship and permanence, but also the direct reason. Aristotle believed that fraternity in a common situation would be similar.

Aristotle pointed out: "There is nothing more than a common life is a sign of friendship, not only those poor people need to have some alms, is the happy people, but also want to have friends to spend time together, they are the most unwilling to live a lonely life." Friends need to be connected in time and space. Only by mutual love and help can we enjoy the joys and pleasures of fraternity. No matter what a person treats as his presence or what makes his existence worthwhile, he wants to share it with his friends. It takes time and emotion for friends to live together. Only through the calibration and choice of life we can find their own love objects, in order to better and happier life.

Aristotle said: "Love is a virtue, or a moral nature of things." "All virtue, as long as something in virtue of it, not only to make this thing in good condition, and to give it excellent function ..." If this principle can be universally applicable, then the virtue of man is a kind of people to become good, and to obtain the quality of their excellent results. In Aristotle's view, Love is not only one of our necessary virtues, it is also a kind of noble virtue.

Corresponding to three kinds of lovely things, there will be three different kinds of fraternity. Aristotle has become a fraternity of three kinds: happy love, utilitarian fraternity and moral friendliness.

Most young people's love is the happy fraternity, their friendship is mainly driven by feelings and role, is based on happiness. This kind of happy friendship will change with the things that make you happy, it is relatively unstable. Useful love is to become friends because they are useful, not because they are friends for their own sake, they can get useful things from each other. This kind of fraternity is also unstable, and once a useful friend can no longer be used as a useful purpose, such fraternity will break down. Virtue of friendship is because of the moral reasons for the friendship of friends, this kind of friendship is relatively long-lasting. Perfect love is in virtue of similar people between the fraternity, each other because of each other's own sake and hope that he is good, and they are also good people, because the good is both generally good and mutually useful, so all fraternity is bound to be lasting. This virtue is embodied in all the characteristics of a friend. Both happy and useful. "This kind of fraternity takes time and needs to form a common morality".

By studying Aristotle's loving thoughts, we can see that true fraternity must be based on virtue, and that such fraternity will last. In today's society, our life rhythm is more and more fast, work pressure is also very big, let people more intense desire money and power, all day for our life and rushing. The relationship between people has also slowly changed, people become indifferent, lack of mutual love. Friendship is an indispensable emotion for our happiness, and it is also the pillar of our spirit and soul. If there is no love, our life will lack a lot of happiness, lack of a lot of mutual help, such a life will be incomplete. Love can always warm us, love at the same time also promote the development of the world and progress, anyone needs to love this emotion exist to adjust and balance themselves, we can see its importance to us.
