Communication and Collaboration Strategy Iris Harris GEN/200 May 17, 2010 Deidre Jackson Communication and Collaboration Strategy There will be challenges in life, but I have founded out the experiences in any career goal is the most challenging. It may require working with a team, which we will have to learn how communication and collaboration strategy skills will be our main tools. Diversity relates to teamwork this will tell whether the team will be a success or failure. Individual diversity is directly related to teamwork this can provide progress, and ideals that a team would need to come up with, and work together so it will work for everyone. With a team, we will have different types of intelligences. In order for a team to be effective there must be communication and common goals also with understanding each other personalities and learning skills. If these skills are used, we will have a good foundation to become an excellent team that will reach their goal. Learning Styles Logical/Mathematical A person who has logical/mathematical intelligence ability has a tool that can recognize problems, and solve them. They also can follow directions if correctly given that will help them work out problem step-by-step and in full details. Problems solving show that a person can understand numbers and logical concepts well. People are experienced to handle those calculations than a logical/mathematical type (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007) Interpersonal People with interpersonal intelligence can help and understand people. They can interact with other, interpret their behavior, and understand the individuals’ moods. People come to them for advice they could help people who need help in solving problems. They enjoy teaching others and consider themselves as a leader. They enjoy begin at home and care about how an individual think or feel. When the times come, they will socialize with friends. They have the skills to communicate verbal and nonverbal when conflict happens within a team. Solving the conflict will come from the person who has the interpersonal ability (Cater, 2007) Visual/Spatial A person who has visual/spatial intelligence is what some may consider an artist. Through their visual aids they have a very big visualize of the world. They have the capacity to remember pictures. They also like drawing, painting, and art. They also can notice details when missed by others. People with this intelligence can excel in many ways. They can be the go to person on a team helping to solve any kind of conflict. If a team member has this ability it will plays a big role on a team how we reach our goals (Carter, 2007). Personality Types Thinker We are all thinker, who have to think to solve any kind of problem or even make decisions some better than others. A thinker can completely have a strong understanding of a problem, and can work in out systematic if necessary. They have the ability of communicating information to solve problems. Thinkers are always open to new information and complex problems are what they are best at solving. If a team is to reach their goal the will need a very strong thinker on the team (Carter, 2007). Organizer An organizer can developed details important for any team to follow. Details are important for a team to develop steps-by-step goals. In order for them to reach their goals the must have a guideline to follow. The organizer and the thinker both can analyze problems that may come up that will prevent this from happing. They are very organized people who do not mine taking responsibility to help other team member reach his or her goal (Carter, 2007). Giver A giver is a person who some may call a people – person. By this, I mean they have excellent interpersonal skill. Who also enjoy working with other and are very dependable people who you called on at any time. Answering questions with an honest answer is their aim to help whenever they can. If a team has, a strong giver they will be able to discuss anything, and this will benefit them in the future. Givers also can work out negotiation and management any kind of conflict (Carder, 2007). Conclusion Individual diversity relates to teamwork this can be the success or failure of a team. Taking time to analyze each team member will allow each member to see how he or she can work together effectively. This is how you build a good relation between each team member. Recognizing each member weakness and his or her strengths will help determine how successful a group will be. A thinker with logical/mathematical intelligence will help restore morale to the group. A giver with very high interpersonal intelligence will give a group a go to person to help solve problems this will cut down on conflict. In order for a team to arrive at good results, they need to ensure they have a strategically that will work for all team members. A balance between all members who are working toward these goals will reached them.
