   New Oriental Education and Technology Group established from the Beijing New Oriental School at November 16, 1993 , with the core business of language training. Besides ,main business includes foreign language training, primary and secondary education, preschool education, online education, counseling abroad, book publishing as well. The products of it focus on the provision of related services and the intangible products take account for the main percentage. Also, there are some tangible products such as the books established by it .

    Its performance is affected by economic conditions. To begain with, stable growth economically and the continuous improvement of living standards result in the increasing spiritual pursuit, which have brought a vast market and opportunities for New Oriental.Moreover, the population of the city increased due to the acceleration of urbanization .With the shift from rural to urban population, the demand for culture also will increase, which also brought a huge student market for the New Oriental .

    There is no exportation, importation and subsidiaries in foreign countries for New Oriental. However, the competition among different institutions reduce the total increasing trend . This is partly because different institutions would take increasing and various competitive strategies to expand their market.

    Nevertheless, there are still some competitive strengths for the New Oriental. At first, it owns sufficient capital and human resources to ensure the smooth option. Then,as the first established brand, its status is more stable with high market shares. Finally, the organization structure and management model is more efficient and the excellent corporate culture and brand image promote its option.

     The firm’s strategic plans are :firstly, positioning English Training and expand geographically in the nationwide. Secondly, making the English training brand extend to the entire training industry to decrease the management ,spread and selling cost via sharing the similar aiming customer, channels and facilities or tie-in sale. It also could help to reduce the income seasonal fluctuation.Thirdly, developing the distance education, which effectively breaks time and space barriers between teachers and students and provides an implementation of the new market demand .

The structure of New Oriental was arranged in sequence as following: shareholders, board of directors, presidents and some parallel institution such as functional departments, research institute , New Oriental schools subsidiaries.

The facilities located nationally, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan and so on. And it also take the tie-in strategy to reduce the sale expense.

    New Oriental promotes its services by teachers training ,taking innovative teaching methods, receiving teaching feedback , improving active classroom atmosphere and so on.

    New Oriental Education & Technology Group typically obtain funds by issuing stock.  It successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange on September 7, 2006 , becoming China's first  listed overseas educational institution.

It plans to expand in the future nationally through operating more institutions in almost every main city in China.

   Totally, in the last three years, there is a dramatic drop from around 120 to just above 25 within one day. Although there is a steady increase for the price of stocks during the whole 2013 year ,it decreased gradually in 2014. To sum up, its performance was weak. It might because the marketing failure and strategy failure. The rise of a growing number of organizations which are able to provide alternative services or even more special than the New Oriental, gives it a great threat. Besides,New Oriental focus not only on language training but also on other subjects , which undermine its specificity.
